Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Clinical Nurse Managers and Clinical Nurse Leaders – Women’s Services for a well-known Paediatrics and Women’s Health hospital in Doha, Qatar. Paediatric experience a must!
Our client is an ultramodern, fully digital academic medical facility incorporating the most advanced information technology applications in clinical, research and business functions. The hospital aims to set new standards in patient care for women and children and be a pioneer in clinical and translational biomedical research, providing a diversity and quality of care conducive to training medical students and highly skilled clinicians. As such, staff will both treat patients and may also be involved in shaping the setup of this new facility and striving towards the hospital’s goal of becoming a world leading medical and research center.Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for leading and demonstrating the provision of safe patient and family focused quality care on his/her unit/clinic/service 24-hours a day, and as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team ensures that standards for nursing care are adhered to at unit/clinic/service level. Works collaboratively to ensure that commissioning, recruitment, onboarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the hospital’s plans and timelines.KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Serves as a professional and clinical role model for staff and acts as an advocate for patients and their familiesEnsures that patient care is provided in accordance with established standards of nursing care, policies, guidelines and protocols of the Hospital and the State of QatarPlans for safe staffing patterns, while meeting the patient’s need for continuity of care. Analyzes processes and ensures staffing ratios and patient assignments are reflective of patient census, acuity, level of education, and capabilities of staffContributes to the development and delivery of Family Centered Services objectives using a continuous improvement paradigm. Works collaboratively and creatively to achieve objectives by embracing new ways of working/practice through utilizing evidence or research and taking the lead in implementing changes as requiredDevelops key performance indicators for the unitManages budget for the unit and ensures that patient services are provided in a timely, efficient and effective manner by utilizing the resources (manpower, material and equipment) appropriatelyEvaluates and ensures effective and efficient patient flow using a multi-disciplinary approach to facilitate a timely discharge/or transfer process to the next level of care or homeIdentifies ideas that will improve the quality of patient care and issues that negatively impact on patient care outcomes, and implements solutions to demonstrate improvements in quality data and bench marksCollaborates with clinical educators in planning, implementation and evaluation of patient and staff education requirementsCommunicates effectively and efficiently with patients, families and colleagues, addresses patient complaints immediately and assists in the investigation of written complaintsInitiates changes/improvements based on patient feedback and patient satisfaction resultsPromotes the effective orientation, precepting and support of new staff and studentsProvides a welcoming work environment and monitors and tracks individuals progressEnsures ongoing individual performance appraisals are objectively completed for staff members and assists with action plans arising from appraisals as necessary. Evaluates and ensures appropriate escalation of issues to meet patient/staff needs and resolve conflictsEstablishes and maintains effective administrative processes on the unit, prepares reports and maintains records of activity and outcomes, and conducts unit meetings and maintains minutesDevelops, reviews and revises unit policies and procedures as requiredParticipates in organization-wide Performance Improvement activities and committees as assignedDevelops and sustains own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness and maintains a professional profile. Provides documented evidence of performance and maintenance of skills consistent with positionFollows all the Hospital’s related policies and procedures.Adheres to the Hospital’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – SELECTION CRITERIA: Education: ESSENTIAL: Masters degree in Nursing or health related field, or Masters in Business Administration from an accredited University in North America, or equivalent in the UK, Republic of Ireland, EU States, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand.
PREFERRED: Post graduate specialty qualification
Experience: ESSENTIAL: 7+ years of progressive management experience in a specialty area in an acute care hospital setting in a North American Academic Institution, or equivalent in the UK, Republic of Ireland, EU States, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand.Significant, proven Women’s Health experience.
Certification and License requirements: ESSENTIAL: Current Nursing License from country of origin
PREFERRED: Post graduate specialty certification.
